An expanded meeting of the Presidium of the Scientific Council of the Russian Geographical Society will take place on May 27 at 12:30 at the headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow (Moscow, Novaya Ploshchad, 10, bldg. 2)

The Academic Council includes 49 people. Among them are the First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, Academician of RAS Nikolai Kasimov, the First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, Corresponding Member of RAS Artur Chilingarov, heads of the leading institutes of RAS and universities of the country. Such respected scientists as oceanologist, Chief Scientist SSC RAS Gennady Matishov, Chief Scientist of GC RAS, Academician Alexei Gvishiani, director of the Institute of Archeology of RAS Nikolai Makarov, glaciologist, Doctor of Geography, Professor Olga Solomina and others.

The Council acts in order to carry out research, educational and publishing activities, conducts scientific expertise and research, prepares thematic reports and conclusions on behalf of the Society.

April 19, 2024. The International Conference "Data Science, Geoinformatics and Systems Analysis in Geosciences" will be held on September 25-27, 2024 in Suzdal (Vladimir Oblast). The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Geophysical Center of RAS and the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

April 10, 2024. The RSF supported the project of the GC RAS "Determination of the Spatial and Temporal Structure of the Earth's Magnetic Field in the Vicinity of Geomagnetic Observatories of the Russian Federation with the Use of UAVs".

April 5, 2024. Deputy Director for Science of the GC RAS D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev took part in the V. P. Fyodorov Arctic Seminar.

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).
