May 20, 2018. The Open Youth Scientific Astronomical Conference of the Moscow Region "Vega Readings 26" was held. This year it is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of Vega, the 90th anniversary of the First World Exhibition of Interplanetary Vehicles and Mechanisms. Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Geoinformatics and Geomagnetic Research of GC RAS R. Krasnoperov and Research Associate at the Laboratory of Geophysical Data M. Nisilevich were invited to participate in the conference as jury members.

Young amateur astronomers from Moscow and the Moscow region took part in the conference. In total, about 130 abstracts and practical works of schoolchildren of different grades were presented at the event.

November 29, 2018. The 47th Lomonosov Readings ended in Pomorie. For the first time ever, 14 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, heads of leading scientific institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, members of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation gathered in Arkhangelsk. The main topic of discussion was the creation of a world-class research and education center in the Arkhangelsk region. Acting Director of GC RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS A. A. Soloviev attended the readings.

November 28, 2018. The annual General Meeting of Professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held. The first panel session was devoted to the scientific and technological development of Russia. At the second panel session, the principles of funding and examination of scientific research, including the evaluation of scientific organizations, were discussed. The meeting was attended by Corresponding Member of RAS, Professor of RAS, Acting Director of GC RAS A. A. Soloviev.

November 27, 2018. Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GC RAS) held a scientific workshop “New technological solutions for spherical visualization: experience in developing a demonstration complex for Novosibirsk State University (NSU)” The speakers were employees of the Laboratory for Innovation Projects of GC RAS: head of the laboratory A. I. Rybkina, researcher O. O. Samokhina, as well as junior researchers Yu. I. Nikolova and S. V. Presnyakov.

November 12-18, 2018. S. Yu. Khomutov, expert of INTERMAGNET and R.V. Sidorov, senior researcher at the Geoinformatics and Geomagnetic Research Laboratory of GC RAS, visited the Klimovskaya magnetic observatory (Konoshsky District, Arkhangelsk Region), maintained by the GC RAS.
