February 17, 2016 On February 7, 2016 Executive Director of the International Council for Science (ICSU) Dr Heide Hackmann (South Africa), President of CODATA prof. Jeffrey Boulton (UK), Executive Director of CODATA Simon Hudson (UK) and Director of GC RAS, Chairman of the Russian Committee of CODATA Academician A. Gvishiani held talks in Paris.

The central themes of the talks were the RNF project of GC RAS ​​and CODATA to recognize high-risk seismic zones; international school for young seismologists "System Analysis and Seismic Hazard Assessment" from 12 to 15 July, 2016 in Moscow; International Conference "Data Intensive System Analysis for Geohazard Studies” from 18 to 21 July 2016 in Sochi. The sides elaborated concrete steps for the joint organization of these events. CODATA will send researchers of international class to take part in them.

July 11, 2018. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, V. A. Petrov, head of the Geoinformatics Laboratory of IGEM RAS, visited GC RAS. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a working meeting in which A. Gvishiani, Director of the Geophysical Center, A. Soloviev, Deputy Director for Science, A. Rybkina, Deputy Director for Development, and researcher A. Odintsova participated.

July 6-10, 2018. Scientists of the Laboratory of Geoinformatics and Geomagnetic Studies D. V. Peregudov and M. N. Dobrovolsky took part in the joint event – the 26th Extended European Cosmic Ray Symposium and 35th Russian Cosmic Ray Conference. The event was held at the Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia).

July 2-4, 2018. Leading engineer of the Laboratory of Geoinformatics and Geomagnetic Studies of GC RAS A. Grudnev visited "Klimovskaya" observatory (Arkhangelsk region, Klimovskaya village). The main goal of the expedition is to carry out routine preventive works aimed at maintaining the working capacity of geomagnetic equipment, including a scalar magnetometer.

July 4, 2018. Two international scientific organizations - the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the International Social Science Council (ISSC) have united in a new union - the International Science Council (ISC). GC RAS represents the interests of Russia in the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG), now part of the ISC. IUGG General Secretary Alik T. Ismail-Zade was elected as the chief secretary of the newly formed Council.
