From 23 to 28 October in the village Udabno (Georgia), a joint expedition of employees of the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology named after A. Nazarov of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia: Deputy Director for Development A. I. Rybkina and Research Fellow of the Laboratory of Innovative Projects A. A. Odintsova (GC RAS), as well as Director of the Institute D. K. Karapetyan and S. A. Ambartsumyan (IGIS NAS RA).

In the course of the field work, the magnetic susceptibility of the rocks of the Shirak Formation of the Udabno section was measured to assess the influence of astronomical cyclicity on the sedimentation processes of Paratethys. The expeditionary tasks also included the selection of samples for lithological and paleontological studies in order to further describe the studied deposits and clarify their geological age.

April 19, 2024. The International Conference "Data Science, Geoinformatics and Systems Analysis in Geosciences" will be held on September 25-27, 2024 in Suzdal (Vladimir Oblast). The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Geophysical Center of RAS and the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

April 10, 2024. The RSF supported the project of the GC RAS "Determination of the Spatial and Temporal Structure of the Earth's Magnetic Field in the Vicinity of Geomagnetic Observatories of the Russian Federation with the Use of UAVs".

April 5, 2024. Deputy Director for Science of the GC RAS D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev took part in the V. P. Fyodorov Arctic Seminar.

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).
