September 14, 2018. Director of GC RAS, Academician A.D. Gvishiani took part in the round table, which was devoted to modern digital technologies in materials science. Igor Anatolyevich Abrikosov, a professor at NITU MISiS (Russia) and Linköping University (Sweden), academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, became the chairman of the meeting.

The meeting was held in the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Moscow Mining Academy at NITU "MISiS". The main topics for discussion of the roundtable participants were such issues as numerical modeling of the properties of materials and technological processes using supercomputers; the concept of big data, creation of modern databases and their use in materials science; breakthrough methods of digital technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence and quantum computing etc.

The event was attended by Deputy Director for Science Corresponding Member of RAS A. A. Soloviev, Head of the Laboratory of Geodynamics, Doctor of Technical Sciences V. N. Tatarinov, junior researcher of the Laboratory of Geodynamics I. V. Losev.
