September 3, 2018. Russian Journal of Earth Sciences (RJES), published by GC RAS, began to be indexed by SCOPUS, a reference database of scientific publications.

Russian Journal of Earth Sciences has been published since 1998, GC RAS is its founder and publisher. The journal publishes original research papers in all areas of geology, geophysics and geochemistry, including geoinformatics, ecology, atmospheric and ocean physics. The editor-in-chief of RJES is A.D. Gvishiani, Academician of RAS; previously the journal was headed by prof. A.F. Grachev.

The journal is published in English. The main goal of the journal is to bring to the international scientific community the results of scientific research received by Russian scientists. Articles of foreign authors and international collectives are also accepted for publication, articles devoted to the general problems of earth sciences and research in Northern Eurasia are particularly welcome.

RJES is indexed by Web of Science, the Russian Scientific Citation Index (RINC), eLibrary, EBSCO host, Google Scholar (Google Academy), GeoRef, WorldCat, CyberLeninka and others.

April 19, 2024. The International Conference "Data Science, Geoinformatics and Systems Analysis in Geosciences" will be held on September 25-27, 2024 in Suzdal (Vladimir Oblast). The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Geophysical Center of RAS and the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

April 5, 2024. Deputy Director for Science of the GC RAS D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev took part in the V. P. Fyodorov Arctic Seminar.

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.
