May 18, 2018. A new project "Study of rock massif stability on the basis of system analysis of geodynamic processes for geoecologically safe underground isolation of radioactive waste" was launched at GC RAS.

Leader of the project is Academician A.D. Gvishiani. As a result of the project, the fundamental geological and geophysical scientific problem will be solved - geodynamic safety of underground isolation of high-level radioactive waste in geological formations is provided on the basis of the system approach and the development of the pattern recognition method applied to the forecast of stability of the geological environment for long periods of time.

April 19, 2024. The International Conference "Data Science, Geoinformatics and Systems Analysis in Geosciences" will be held on September 25-27, 2024 in Suzdal (Vladimir Oblast). The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Geophysical Center of RAS and the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

April 10, 2024. The RSF supported the project of the GC RAS "Determination of the Spatial and Temporal Structure of the Earth's Magnetic Field in the Vicinity of Geomagnetic Observatories of the Russian Federation with the Use of UAVs".

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).
