According to the agreement sighed by the Moscow State Open University (MSOU) (http://www.msou.ru/) and the Geophysical center RAS (GC RAS) for training qualified scientific manpower a base chair “Mining Ecology and Geoinformation Systems of Ecological Security” of MSOU was organized in GC RAS.
The chair was certified by decrees issued by Professor E. Tsaturian, rector of MSOU (the MSOU scientific council minutes #3 of 25.12.2007) and corr. Member of RAS, Professor A. Gvishiani (decree issued on 6 March, 2008).
The chair plans to organize education and training of engineers specializing in: specialty # 330500 – “Security of technological processes and industries” and specialty 090202.6 – “Complex utilization and protection of natural resources”.
Together with the chair “Mining Ecology and Safety of Living” of the Oil and Mining Faculty of MSOU the base chair “Mining Ecology and Geoinformation Systems of Ecological Security” in the GC RAS focuses on solving the following tasks:

1. Organization and carrying out studies and training courses for students on specialties 330500 and 090202.6;
2. Preparing and carrying out the author’s and elective studies;
3. Carrying out group and individual tutorials for students;
4. Organization of field trips for students of MSOU;
5. Preparing new study materials and methods, textbooks and training appliances;
6. Providing consultations regarding students’ diploma projects and works of graduates;
7. Participation in the work of  on specialtes 330500 – «“Security of technological processes and industries”   and 090202.6 – Complex utilization and protection of natural resources”;
8. Encouraging students, past-graduates and professors of MSOU to take part in scientific and research work;
9. Organizing and participating in scientific workshops and conferences;
10. Publications of scientific works with participation of students and post-graduates.

At the present time the following list of participants of the base chair “Mining Ecology and Geoinformation Systems of Ecological Security” is established:

The chair carries out the following three training courses:

2. The role of satellite systems of global navigation in ensuring geodynamic security of mining ore deposits. (methodology /in Russian/)

3. Геодинамическая безопасность при разработке рудных месторождений. (methodology /in Russian/)
